Description (Service)	Responsible for stimulating local economy and developing economic initiatives and opportunities for the community Provides information, training and educational workshops to enhance employability skills Promotes new business opportunities Works to access funding and improvements for band-owned business ventures Provides coaching in areas such as business plan development and assistance in obtaining financial support for people wanting to start own business Liaises with public and private sectors on behalf of the community regarding economic development initiatives Maintains local business directory Advises local businesses and Band Council on economic development Works to secure funding for training and employment opportunities for community members Economic initiatives Red Rock Indian Band is involved with include: Professional Business Complex, completed in 2015; houses Band Office and several other tenants Ownership of Chalet Lodge consisting of a large lodge building, a 3 bedroom house, 14 cabins, a sauna, and an indoor pool on 22 acres of reserve land Commercial Properties/Real estate investments in Nipigon, Red Rock and Thunder Bay which the Band rents through long-term leases Development potential at the Ruby Lake Marble Quarry East West Tie Transmission Line Collaboration with six other First Nations on the Little Jackfish River Hydro-Electric Project Possibility of streetlight upgrades (LED) within the community for savings of energy costs and maintenance Partnerships with organizations of mutual interests and currently including Lakehead University, Township of Nipigon and Northshore Network
