Description (Agency) Functions as a parenting program that provides tips and ideas on parenting and assists individuals who are dealing with behavioural or family problems
Description (Service) Offers a parenting program that follows a helpful, positive approach to raising children 
  • Provides tips and new ideas that will help parents build confidence and new skills 
  • Assists individuals with dealing with behaviour or family problems
Focuses on five (5) principles of positive parenting:  
  • Ensuring a safe, interesting environment 
  • Creating a positive learning environment 
  • Using assertive discipline 
  • Having realistic expectations 
  • Taking care of yourself as a parent
Offers information and tips on four (4) main parenting skills:  
  • Developing positive relationships 
  • Encouraging desirable behavior 
  • Teaching children new behaviours and skills 
  • Managing misbehavior
Level One - Universal Triple P  
  • Media based parent information campaign 
  • Promotes awareness of parenting issues and suggests where families can go for further help 
  • Aims to normalize and destigmatize participation in parenting programs
Level Two - Selected Triple P  
  • Provides information and advice on how to solve common child development issues and minor behavioural problems 
  • Available to parents of children birth to age 12, as well as parents of adolescents
Level Three - Primary Care Triple P  
  • Offers narrow focus parenting skills training  
  • Provides a combination of advice, role play and self evaluation to teach parents how to manage discrete child behaviours such as tantrums or fighting with siblings 
  • Available to parents of children birth to age 12, as well as parents of adolescents
Level Four - Standard Triple P  
  • Offers broad focus parenting-skills training to parents wanting intensive training in positive parents skills 
  • Typically geared towards parents whose children have more severe behavioural problems such as aggressive or oppositional behaviour 
  • Available to parents of children birth to age 12, as well as parents of adolescents 
  • Also available in Group, Group Teen and Self Directed formats
Level Five - Enhanced Triple P  
  • Offers intensive family intervention to parents of children with concurrent child behaviour problems and family dysfunction, such as parental conflict, depression or stress 
  • Programs are individually tailored for each family and can include stress coping skills, mood management strategies and anger management
Specialist Interventions - Stepping Stones Triple P  
  • Offers a broad focus program for parents of preadolescent children with a disability 
  • Combines traditional Triple P parenting methods and introduces additional strategies drawn from disability research literature
Specialist Interventions - Pathways Triple P  
  • Provides an intervention strategy for parents at risk of child maltreatment 
  • Sessions are an adjunctive intervention used in combination with either Group or Standard Triple P (Level 4)
