Description (Service)
  • Provides programs and services that promote physical and mental health for community members from children to elders 
  • Participates in teaching with a regular rotation of medical students and residents from Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) 
  • Provides snacks, transportation and childcare for all programs 
  • Provides a monthly calendar with listing of all programs 
  • Coordinates an Ontario Telemedicine Network site
Focuses on direct, clinical services including: 
  • Consultations with family physicians and visiting professionals 
  • Education on health issues such as diabetes, pre/post natal health, nutrition, sexual health etc 
  • Environmental health 
  • Foot care clinics 
  • Laboratory and diagnostic services (limited) 
  • Perinatal care
Programs include: 
  • Elderly and Disabled Services 
  • Infant Development Planning 
  • Non-Insured Medical Benefits 
  • Medical Transportation
Offers awareness and outreach programs to meet the health needs of community members in the following areas: 
  • Health Programs 
  • Family Wellness 
  • Addictions and Mental Health 
  • Early Childhood Development and Healthy Babies Healthy Children (includes Family Home Visits and Maternal Child Health Program) 
  • Elderly and Disabled Social Services 
  • Community Cultural Awareness
Also provides: 
  • Band representation in Child Welfare protection issues 
  • Support and assistance in policy development for the Human Resource department
Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)  
  • Provides access to specialized medical care using videoconferencing and other tele-diagnostic equipment  
  • Allows specialists to remotely examine and prescribe treatments to patients in their home communities  
  • Reduces the need to travel to receive care

Mon-Thu 8 am-12 noon, 12:30 pm-4:15 pm * Fri 8 am-12 noon Jun-Aug
