Public Comments Voters with disabilities may pre-arrange for special early ballots, home visits and/or assistive technologies; Voters who need a sign language interpreter can contact the Canadian Hearing Society Ontario Interpreting Service at www.chs.ca; Voters do not need to provide any information about their sex or gender expression when they go to vote; if they choose to show photo ID, their appearance need not match the photo.

Description (Service) Elections Ontario is a non-partisan Agency of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, working under the direction of the Chief Electoral Officer, an officer of the Legislative Assembly. Ontario elections are governed by the Election Act and the Election Finances Act.

Eligibility To be eligible to vote must be: 
  • A Canadian citizen, and 
  • 18 years old or older on the date of the election, and 
  • a resident of Ontario
    To determine if your name is on the Voters List, or to confirm, update or add your information: 
    • Visit the "Are You Registered To Vote?" website or call toll-free 1-888-668-8683
    To work as a poll official:
    18 years of age, Canadian Citizen and resident of Ontario for the following positions: 
    • Area Manager (advance poll and election day) 
    • Supervising Deputy Returning Officer (election day) 
    • Deputy Returning Officer (advance poll and election day) 
    • Poll Clerk (advance poll and election day) 
    • Tabulator Deputy Returning Officer (advance poll) 
    • Polling Day Revision Assistant (election day)
    At least 16 years of age: 
    • Information Assistant (advance poll and election day)
    Application Must provide the following identification to receive a ballot: 
    • Voter Information Card and a piece of identification that shows your name, or 
    • If not on the Voter's List and did not receive a Voter Information Card, bring a piece of identification that shows both your name and residential address
    An original identification document, a photocopy of an identification document, or an electronic copy displayed on a mobile device (including utility bills received electronically) from the list of acceptable documents: 
    • Ontario driver's licence 
    • Ontario Photo Card 
    • Ontario motor vehicle permit 
    • Statement of government benefits 
    • CNIB ID 
    • Band council identification 
    • Bank statement 
    • Credit card statement 
    • Loan statement or agreement 
    • Utility bill
