Description (Service) Represents the membership in all land and environmental management activities 
  • Negotiated on behalf of members to be granted successful entry (Jan 2012) into the Framework Agreement on First Nations Land Management Act (FNLMA), which gives the First Nation the authority to create its own Land Code and land laws in the development of reserve lands, natural resources and revenues from the reserve land base 
  • Developed subsequent Land Code and presented to community; members voted in favor of approving the community Land Code (Mar 2014)  
  • Identifies and assesses the environmental effects of land use policies, addresses those issues and advocates sound environmental practices  
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and policies governing land issues  
  • Advises community members on Lands and Resource issues via meetings or correspondence 
  • Assists in residential land allocation issues and housing matters
