Description (Agency) Works with individuals of all ages in their own homes, communities or local CNIB offices, providing the personalized rehabilitation support they need to see beyond vision loss, build their independence and lead the lives they want
Description (Service) Mobile medical eye care clinic 
  • Offers a fully equipped mobile medical eye care clinic that includes custom-made transport truck and 48-foot trailer which includes a reception and waiting area, a vision screening area, and a doctor's examination room 
  • Offers vision screening and eye exams 
  • Treats eye conditions  
  • Can perform minor surgery and laser surgery on site

Areas Served Algoma District ; Cochrane District ; Kenora District ; Manitoulin District ; Nipissing District ; Rainy River District ; Sudbury District ; Thunder Bay District ; Timiskaming District
  • Individuals with serious eye problems or a family history of eye disease or are experiencing difficulties due to vision loss 
  • Patients with diabetes and glaucoma 
  • Must provide proof of valid provincial health care coverage
Application Referrals by family doctor, optometrist or nurse practitioner are accepted 
Note: Individuals requiring a routine eye examination or prescription glasses may contact their local optometrist. If no optometrist is available, people may be able to have an appointment on the Eye Van, space permitting
