Public Comments The Ombudsman is an officer of the Provincial Legislative Assembly, independent from government and political parties
Description (Agency) Offers confidential investigation of public complaints about Ontario government services that could not be resolved through regular complaints procedures
Description (Service)
  • Investigates complaints about services provided by the Government of Ontario and its organizations, such as provincial ministries, Crown corporations, tribunals, agencies, boards and commissions; also, Ontario universities and school boards, and municipalities (excluding matters covered by the Office of the Ombudsman, City of Toronto) 
  • Cannot deal with matters regarding federal governments, courts, politicians, hospitals, long-term care homes or the private sector
