Description (Agency) A non-profit organization offering open custody, open detention and community based services to youth ages 12-17 years; mandated to provide youth justice services under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and subject to licensing requirements as set out through the Child and Family Services Act (CFSA) and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS)
Description (Service)
  • Community based agency offering open custody/open detention and community reintegration services to youth who have been sentenced by the courts to serve a custodial and/or a community sentence 
  • Operates an 8-bed facility and community reintegration program based on principles of community safety, accountability, and the reduction of recidivism 
  • Provides individualized and structured rehabilitative and reintegration programming 
  • Youth are sentenced through the courts to a term of custody or remanded on a detention order
Reintegration and Community Services Program (RCS) 
  • Supports the rehabilitation and integration of young persons in the community 
  • Develops individualized plans that are supported by program staff and target specific assessed needs of the young person
