Description (Service)
  • Identifies priority human care issues in the region 
  • Develops partnerships and provides support and funding to local registered charitable organizations who provide health and human care services to the community  
  • Fundraises to provide support for the continuation and support of priority work 
  • Works with community partners to make long term meaningful improvements to the quality of life in the community  
  • Acts as a volunteer-driven organization 
  • Facilitates the Social Development Council (SDC) which directs the future planning of social services and encourages collaborations between organizations
 
Operates the following programs and services: 
  • Community Assistance Trust (CAT) 
  • Community Housing Support Program 
  • LEAP Emergency Financial Assistance 
  • Volunteer Sault Ste. Marie and District 
  • Winter Warmth Fund
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-4 pm
Areas Served Algoma District
Boundaries All communities between Elliot Lake and White River
Eligibility Funding: Must be a registered charity
