Description (Service)
  • Provides advisory services to community leaders and council in fire services, search and rescue operations, emergency measures and prevention programs  
  • Conducts and monitors the development and implementation of fire safety programs  
  • Provides information and training for fire fighters, fire chiefs and officers  
  • Evaluates fire safety conditions in each community and advises on subsequent requirements to ensure safety of community members and assets  
  • Undertakes compliance inspections on all types of public and private buildings 
  • Coordinates and supervises the fire fighting competitions among local fire departments in preparation for the annual Regional Competitions 
  • Assists with training programs (S-100/S-200) offered for forest firefighter certification
Fire prevention advisory services offered in the following areas:  
  • Community Emergency Planning  
  • Fire protection and acts of terrorism  
  • Fire safety in the home and public buildings 
  • Development and organization of Volunteer Fire Departments 
  • Proper care and maintenance of Band fire protection equipment 
  • Purchase of proper fire protection equipment 
  • Use of applicable codes in new and existing building renovations
Hours Mon-Thu 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Fri 8:30 am-3 pm
