Description (Service) Provides an Anishinabek immersion program for Kindergarten/Grade One students 
  • Administers a learning curriculum focused on a child's academic, social, emotional and language development that is rich in Ojibwe culture and language 
  • Supports the First Nation declaration that language revitalization and learning must be attained by the year 2030 
  • Follows the full day early learning kindergarten program implemented across the Province of Ontario  
  • Promotes and encourages parent, child and teacher collaboration in the best interests of the child

Eligibility Ages: 4 year(s) and up 
  • First Nation and Non-First Nation children who are 4 years old by Dec 31st of the year of enrollment 
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to the restoration of the Ojibwe language and culture 
  • Families are required to volunteer a minimum of 24 hours per year in the program and complete an Anishinaabe Odziiwin (AO) Passport to Learning that has been developed by KTEI
  • Acceptance into program follows a first-come basis; applications are accepted from Jan-Jun and will be put on waitlist if program is full 
  • Requires a completed application available online 
  • Upon acceptance a full registration form will be mailed to parents/guardians
Once accepted parents/guardians must provide: 
  • Birth certificate or proof of age for child 
  • Proof of address 
  • Child's up-to-date immunization records
