Description & Services
Description (Service) Provides services aimed to:  
  • Prevent Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAE) births  
  • Increase the knowledge, skills and quality of life of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) affected children and families 
  • Collaborates with existing community and agency partners to provide support to women and their families to have a healthy pregnancy
Offers the following services:  
  • Provides education and information on the consequences of alcohol consumption during pregnancy  
  • Offers individual and group counselling sessions  
  • Offers parenting strategies and parent support circles  
  • Provides outreach and teaching through workshops and presentations upon request 
  • Offers early childhood development support with children's circles, teaching strategies and baby welcoming ceremonies 
  • Provides clinical services and support through diagnosis and assessment referrals, as well as a liaison with Health Sciences North - FASD NEO Kids Clinic 
  • Offers a resource library with FASD material/resources and sensory processing tools

  • All Manitoulin First Nations and the off-reserve Aboriginal population 
  • Families of children who have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
