Student body of Pontiac School is approx 160 students
Description (Service) Operates a First Nations junior high school for students from Wikwemikong 
  • Offers a full curriculum approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education for students from Grades 5-8  
  • Teaches Native language as a subject course and promotes a sense of pride of heritage 
  • Coordinates a Jump Start program, guitar club, chess club, and programs such as Roots of Empathy and Walking the Path 
  • Provides Smart Boards in all classrooms for interactive learning opportunities 
  • Offers cultural activities such as ice fishing and maple syrup making  
  • Offers a snack program 3 days per week for a small fee  
  • Provides supervised extra-curricular activities such as volleyball, cross country running and three-pitch ball 
  • Participates in the Ontario Secondary Student Literacy Test (OSSLT) program 
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties
Hours Classes: Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri 8:50 am-3:35 pm * Wed 8:50 am-3 pm 
School: Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm
