Student body of Wasse Abin High School is approx 230 students
Description (Service) Operates a First Nations public high school for students from Wikwemikong 
  • Offers a full curriculum approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education for students from Grades 9-12  
  • Teaches Native language as a subject course and promotes a sense of pride of heritage 
  • Offers courses over and above the regular curriculum such as dance, construction technology, hairstyling and aesthetics, entrepreneurship, law, fashion and creative expression, digital imagery and photography 
  • Offers cultural activities and traditional Native teaching as part of regular programs  
  • Offers a breakfast program, dependent on available funding  
  • Provides supervised extra-curricular activities and outdoor education courses 
  • Participates in sports and competitions including golf, volleyball, basketball, badminton, cross-country running, track and field, lacrosse, and tennis  
  • Participates in the Ontario Secondary Student Literacy Test (OSSLT) program 
  • Amenities include a library, fitness room, cafeteria and technology lab 
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties
