Description (Service) Represents the community in all lands and resources initiatives  
  • Functions as the lead in the development and implementation of the MLFN Community Based Land Use Plan which began in 2011 
  • Liaises with all companies undertaking resource development in traditional McDowell Lake territory including mining developments, forestry projects and hydro electric power projects  
  • Participates in negotiations and agreements with resource developers to ensure McDowell Lake First Nation traditional lands and burial sites are protected 
  • Works with outside parties to ensure the First Nation is fairly included in benefits  
  • Works with the Band Office for allocation of land to community registered members who wish to build a home on territorial land
