Description & Services
Description (Service) Provides support services for school-aged children who have been diagnosed with an intellectual disability 
  • Supports students within the classroom for the duration of school years 
  • Provides Augmentative Education support to individual students or in small groups in the community, home, or centre to encourage students' participation in daily activities 
  • Assists in the development of a Family Support Plan with the child/youth and their family members to determine needed supports and establish goals 
  • Attends school meetings with family members upon request 
  • Advocates for inclusion within the community and school environment 
  • Maintains open communication with local school Boards 
  • Collaborates and partners with other community service providers and professionals on children's issues
Hours Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm  
Flexible evening and weekend appointments available to meet families needs

  • Children 6-18 years of age who have been identified as having an intellectual disability and their families 
  • Must reside in Kenora or in surrounding, road-accessible First Nation community
  • Requires a medical diagnosis and 
  • Initial intake assessment
