Agency Services
Description (Service) Provides culturally appropriate health programs and services to the member First Nation communities 
  • Promotes overall health and enhanced quality of life for community members 
  • Offers holistic health and social services that combine traditional values and cultural beliefs with modern practices 
  • Promotes spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well-being through a two-week program at the Healing Lodge 
  • Oversees the development of a full range of promotion, prevention and intervention services 
  • Ensures the needed resources are available in communities 
  • Provides services in the Anishinawbe language whenever possible 
  • Advocates for members in accessing services outside the community
Administers the following programs: 
  • Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative (ADI) 
  • Aboriginal Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Child Nutrition Program (CNP) 
  • Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy 
  • Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy, Aboriginal Healthy Babies Healthy Children (AHBHC) 
  • Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy, Community Wellness Worker Program (CWW) 
  • Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy, Community Development Support Worker Program (CDSW) 
  • Community Health Promotion and Injury/Illness Prevention (CHPI/IP) 
  • Diabetes Nurse and Education Program
Health Services Integration Fund (HSIF) 
  • Works as an initiative to support collaborative planning between First Nation groups, agencies, provincial ministries and Health Canada to meet the health care needs of First Nations people 
  • Focus is on mental health and addictions services, especially prescription drug abuse

Eligibility First Nation individuals living in the communities within the Dryden Tribal Area
Application Services are accessed at a local level in individual communities
