Description (Service)
  • Provides educational services and supports to elementary and secondary school students living on-reserve 
  • Provides bus transportation for elementary and high school students to attend off-reserve schools in the Keewatin Patricia District School Board and the Kenora Catholic District School Board
Post Secondary Student Support Program 
  • Provides financial support to post secondary students both on and off the reserve only as funding allows; students often on waitlist 
  • Provides assistance for applying/filling out application forms for colleges and universities
Alternative Education 
  • Administers on-reserve educational instruction and academic upgrading through the Seven Generations Education Institute 
  • Provides class instruction at the secondary, post-secondary and vocational levels
First Nations Educational Endowment 
  • Established an endowment fund in May 2012 with proceeds from the Golden Eagle Casino in partnership with the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation and a few other contributors 
  • Provides financial assistance to students seeking to attend higher education

  • Members of Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation 
  • All school aged children and youth living on reserve  
  • Any individual living on reserve and pursuing further education
Post Secondary Student Support Program 
  • All Band members regardless of residency are eligible to apply for assistance if attending a post-secondary institution 
  • Financial assistance limited by available funding
Alternative Education
On-reserve individuals 14 years of age and over
Application Post Secondary Student Support Program 
  • Applications for assistance available at office 
  • Deadline to apply for assistance for fall start date is June 1st; January start date is Oct 15th
