Public Comments Community stabilization unit located in Dryden; Dryden and Kenora locations are staffed 24/7
Description (Service)
  • Provides short-term accommodation (4 beds) in a drug/alcohol free environment for individuals with concurrent disorders and/or are experiencing a crisis 
  • Provides non-medical levels I & II withdrawal management services 
  • Offers assessments, screenings, crisis intervention, treatment planning, relapse prevention, peer support, education and referrals to other services 
  • Provides assistance with transportation if required
 
Aims to assist clients by: 
  • Offering stabilization in an alcohol and drug-free environment 
  • Aiding in recovery while abstaining from substance use 
  • Linking them with ongoing supports
Hours Administrative Office Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm 
Mon-Sun 24 hours
Areas Served Kenora District ; Rainy River District
Eligibility Ages: 16 year(s) and up 
 
Individuals who want to make a change in their substance use and: 
  • Require 24-hour non-medical monitoring of withdrawal symptoms and/or a protected setting and support to abstain 
  • Agree to abstain from addictive medication unless under doctor's orders 
  • Have medical clearance in the case that potential medical complications exist 
  • Is voluntarily seeking advice 
  • Is eligible for admission according to applicable readmission criteria 
  • Agrees to terms of no self-harm or harm to to others contract
 
NOTE: In the event that an appropriate level of service cannot be determined, individual will be referred to physician or emergency department for medical clearance
Application Length of stay is based on client need; can be up to three weeks if participating in group sessions
