Description (Service)
  • Promotes the health and nutrition of pregnant women, new mothers and their babies 
  • Administers the program for Firefly Northwest
Provides a range of services including: 
  • Breast feeding education 
  • Dietary assessments 
  • Food preparation training 
  • Food vouchers and vitamin supplements to participants 
  • Nutritional counselling 
  • Prenatal courses  
  • Referrals to other service providers 
  • Transportation to attend the program
Breast Pump Program 
  • Provides the rental of hospital grade breast pumps to new mothers 
  • Offers instructions for use when required
Hours Tue-Fri 10 am-3:30 pm
Areas Served Kenora
  • Pregnant women, new mothers and their infants up to 6 months of age 
  • Focus is on high-risk mothers such as teens but open to everyone 
  • Must be registered in program to receive any of the services provided
Application Program registration required
Breast Pump Program 
  • Limited supply of pumps are rented on first-come basis  
  • Priority given to high-needs mothers
