  • Provides financial, social and academic assistance to First Nations students continuing in post secondary education 
  • Sponsors and supports approved applicants accepted into accredited college and university programs
Partial or full financial aid provided for: 
  • Books 
  • Course materials 
  • Tuition and mandatory fees 
  • Living allowance 
  • Travel assistance
Support services provided are: 
  • Academic counselling 
  • Career counselling 
  • Social counselling

Eligibility Must be a member of one of the 24 First Nation communities in the Sioux Lookout District and continuing education at a Post Secondary institution
Each application is individually reviewed for eligibility then assessed for assignment of a priority. All applications for education assistance are considered according to their priority  
  • Priority 1 Returning/continuing successful and new grade 12 graduates  
  • Priority 2 Continuing successful self-funded students who fall under the INAC guidelines  
  • Priority 3 First time grade 12 equivalency (course) mature students  
  • Priority 4 Previously funded unsuccessful students who have sat out for a minimum of two academic years based on the following criteria:
    • Length of time away from post secondary  
    • Amount of money spent on a student  
    • Official transcript  
    • A written essay complete with an academic plan

Original funding applications must be completed and submitted to the Sioux Lookout or Thunder Bay site and include the following:  
  • Application for Post Secondary Assistance  
  • Consent for Release of Information  
  • Charter of Student Rights and Responsibilities  
  • Band letter of Support  
  • Offer of Admission  
  • Copy of status card (front and back)  
  • Valid email address  
  • Copy of high school diploma  
  • Official transcript (secondary/post secondary)  
  • Copy of dependent's birth certificate  
  • Record of banking information
