Description (Agency) Operates a mutual support group for injured workers and their families
Description (Service) Operates a mutual support group for injured workers and their families
Provides the following Injured Worker Outreach Services (IWOS): 
  • Offers advice and assistance on how to handle injured worker claims 
  • Provides information about the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) policies and procedures 
  • Provides peer support and counselling 
  • Advises workers about other agencies that offer help to injured workers 
  • Participates in law reform to improve the system 
  • Provides public education about the needs and problems of injured workers and workers compensation issues
Also coordinates meetings in Ear Falls upon request
Hours Office and Drop-In: Mon-Tue, Thu 9 am-2 pm
Areas Served Kenora District ; Rainy River District
Boundaries West of Thunder Bay to Manitoba border, North to Sioux Lookout and Red Lake, South to Fort Frances and US border
Eligibility Any Canadian citizen who is interested in improving the workers compensation system in Canada; do not have to be an injured worker
Application Requires completion of General Membership Intake Application
Languages English ; Will seek assistance to deal with bilingual and multicultural clients
