Robinson Huron Treaty
Description (Service) Provides voluntary support and services to assist individuals who are struggling with mental health issues and/or addictions issues
Services offered but not limited to, include the following:
  • Alcohol, drug and gambling assessments 
  • Counselling for individuals, couples and families 
  • Smoking cessation 
  • Relapse prevention and aftercare 
  • Community based treatment services 
  • Referrals to residential treatment
Health Promotion 
  • Presentations and workshops related to mental health and addictions 
  • Support groups 
  • Educational resources 
  • Community activities and events 
  • Liaison to other resources 
  • Referrals
Mental Health 
  • Assessments as deemed appropriate 
  • Counselling for individuals, couples and families 
  • Referrals to psychiatry

Eligibility Ages: 4 year(s) and up 
Adult Services 
  • Must be a Nipissing First Nation resident or family member or living within Nipissing First Nation boundary 
  • Must be 18 years of age or over  
  • Require some form of mental health/addiction services 
  • Must have parents or legal guardian consent when appropriate 
  • Must be able to consent voluntarily to services
Child and Youth Services 
  • Member of Nipissing First Nation or a member of one of the following First Nations: Dokis, Henvey Inlet, Magnetawan, Moose Deer Point, Shawanaga, Temagami, Wahta and Wasauksing 
  • Must be between 0-18 years of age and/or a parent of the child/youth; will service Transitional Age Youth up to the age of 24 who meet eligibility  
  • Require some form of mental health/addiction services 
  • Must have parents or legal guardian consent when appropriate 
  • Must be able to consent voluntarily to services (if appropriate)
Application Open to referrals from other service agencies/providers but recommends initial contact from individual on a voluntary basis
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Ojibway, available upon request
