Description & Services
Description (Service) Offers education and services for the prevention of diabetes 
  • Provides educational awareness regarding diabetes including signs and symptoms 
  • Promotes prevention through increased physical activity and healthy eating 
  • Provides recreational and sport opportunities to the youth of Moosonee 
  • Works in partnership with both the Elementary Schools, Moosonee Recreation Centre, and Timmins Native Friendship Centre
Initiatives the Diabetes Program is/has been involved with include: 
  • After-school program 
  • Community garden 
  • Elementary level Intramurals 
  • Summer camp (three sessions)
Hours Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm
Areas Served Moosonee
Eligibility Focus is for Off-reserve Status, Non-Status, Inuit and M├ętis youth of Moosonee but open to all ages
