Description (Service) Provides assistance in accessing health services to individuals with mental health/addictions issues who are involved with the criminal justice system 
  • Focuses on providing resources and support to prevent repeated offences 
  • Provides a website list of accepted offences to qualify for program
 
Court support services are offered based on client need and include: 
  • Accessing and retaining legal representation  
  • Assistance with bail release  
  • Case management services  
  • Information and referrals for community support services, housing, psychiatric and income supports  
  • Recommendations to the court at time of sentencing on behalf of individual
 
NOTE: Serious offenders are not eligible for program but court diversion worker will provide support

Eligibility Ages: 16 year(s) and up 
 
  • Individuals with mental health/addictions issues and/or developmental challenges and are involved with the criminal justice system  
  • Client must voluntarily agree to services and  
  • The possibility of mental health impairment must be established and  
  • The offence is not too serious (Class One)
Application
  • Intake assessment required  
  • Referrals can be from police, defense lawyers, crown attorneys, probation officers, case managers, Native court workers, correctional staff, developmental service workers, mental health counselor or family members 
  • NO self-referrals accepted
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Cree, available upon request
