Description (Service) Provides mental health and addictions services for communities of the Weeneebayko region 
  • Provides mental health workers/counselors in Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, Kashechewan, Peawanuck, Moosonee and a Psychiatric Clinic Nurse in Moose Factory 
  • Offers services of mental health staff including a Regional Clinical Worker, Regional Crisis Intervention/ Early Episode Clinician, Regional Court Worker/Case Manager, Concurrent Disorder Worker, Regional Clinical Team Leader and a Program Director 
  • Provides psychiatry services on a regular basis through in-person visits, and via the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) 
  • Collaborates closely with other programs and services such as the Traditional Healing Program and Sagashtawao Healing Lodge
Services and programs offered include: 
  • Addictions and mental health counselling 
  • Community support 
  • Court support and diversion 
  • Early psychosis  
  • Follow-up and after care for persons discharged from hospital  
  • Intensive case management  
  • Management of patients with concurrent diagnoses and mood disorders 
  • Public education and awareness 
  • Referrals to other agencies/services  
  • Self-help initiatives to meet the needs of individuals with a serious/persistent mental illness
