Description (Service) Offers early mental health intervention and support to children and parents/guardians concerned about their child's development or behaviour 
  • Focuses on child development and parenting skills 
  • Assists parents to identify and deal with their own issues which may affect parenting ability 
  • Provides in-home visitation 
  • Provides referrals for children and parents to identified helps
Provides family and individual counselling including but not limited to, the following areas of concern: 
  • Attachment 
  • Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) 
  • Bedwetting 
  • Behaviour 
  • Domestic violence 
  • Maternal mental health 
  • Oppositional defiant disorder 
  • Parent functioning  
  • Parent-child relationships 
  • Post traumatic stress 
  • Poverty 
  • Separation anxiety 
  • Substance abuse
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4:30 pm
Areas Served Attawapiskat First Nation ; Fort Albany First Nation ; Kashechewan First Nation ; Moose Factory ; Moosonee ; Weenusk First Nation
Eligibility Ages: 6 year(s) and under 
  • Children at risk/showing signs for developmental, social, emotional and/or behavioural issues and their families 
  • Must be a resident of one of the member First Nation communities
Application Open to referrals from any source; no formal diagnosis required
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Cree, Oji-Cree; available upon request
