Description (Service)
  • Offers various employment and training services to Aboriginal clients 
  • Funds training initiatives from various sponsors or for clients who require additional training to secure employment  
  • Offers practical career, employment, and individual counselling
Programs and services include 
Community Initiatives 
  • Supports the community development of Mushkegowuk First Nations by providing training and employment opportunities that will improve infrastructures, businesses and human resources at the community level
Individual Initiatives 
  • Assists First Nations individuals to improve their personal employment skills and career potential via job training, placements, and counselling services
Regional Initiatives 
  • Provides opportunities for multiple communities to participate in regional employment
Youth Initiatives 
  • Assists First Nations youth between the ages of 16 and 30 years old to gain meaningful employment skills and experience
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5 pm
Areas Served Attawapiskat First Nation ; Chapleau Cree First Nation ; Fort Albany First Nation ; Kashechewan First Nation ; Missanabie Cree First Nation ; Moose Cree First Nation ; Taykwa Tagamou First Nation ; Weenusk First Nation - Peawanuck
  • Must be one of the member First Nations within the Mushkegowuk Territory 
  • Weenusk First Nation eligble for Employment & Training Services through inclusion in the Aboriginal Human Resources Development Agreement (AHRDA) with Service Canada
  • Services are accessed at a local level, contact Band Office 
  • Application available at office or on website 
  • Referrals through Ontario Works, Canada Employment Centres and/or other Native organizations
