Head Start is located on the 1st floor of the Chief Munroe Linklater Memorial Education Centre
Description (Service) Operates on-reserve Aboriginal Head Start and Ontario Early Years satellite programs to prepare young children for school years
  • Offers activities such as family gym time, arts and crafts, breakfast and circle time and a pre-school library 
  • Participates in community events and special celebrations
Offers daily programs focused on: 
  • Education 
  • Health and nutrition 
  • Native culture and language 
  • Parental and family involvement 
  • Social support
Services offered are: 
  • Dental screening and fluoride treatments  
  • Developmental assessments  
  • Parent workshops  
  • Speech and language (also teaches basic Cree)
Hours Administration: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-5 pm 
Programs: Mon-Fri 2-hour sessions; see monthly calendar or newsletter for times
