Description (Service)
  • Provides educational services and supports to elementary, secondary and post-secondary school students 
  • Negotiated changes in the curriculum with the Rainbow District School Board to include Anishinabek awareness 
  • Bus transportation for elementary and high school students attending various schools in the Sudbury Catholic District School Board and the Rainbow District School Board is provided by the Sudbury Student Services Consortium
Secondary Education 
  • Provides assistance, guidance and referrals to helps with academic issues 
  • Maintains lists of students, addresses and schools attended 
  • Provides information on community involvement hours to students about groups looking for volunteer assistance
Post Secondary Education  
  • Provides counselling and guidance in choosing post-secondary field of studies  
  • Provides assistance for applying/filling out application forms for colleges and universities 
  • Provides financial sponsorship support to post secondary students
Special Education  
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties  
  • Develops Individual Education Plans (IEP) for each student to identify needs 
  • Meets with students, parents, teachers and support staff to ensure optimal communication

Post Secondary Education  
All Band members living in Whitefish Lake First Nation are eligible to apply for assistance if attending a post-secondary institution
Special Education 
  • Any child with special needs and/or learning difficulties  
  • Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs
Application Post Secondary Education 
  • Applications for assistance available at Administration Office  
  • Deadline to apply for assistance: Intersession/summer course - last Fri of Mar; Sep enrolment - second Fri of Jun; Jan enrolment - second Fri of Oct
For financial assistance applicant required to provide: 
  • Photocopy of recent status card  
  • Completed post-secondary application package issued by Whitefish Lake First Nation  
  • Letter of acceptance from post-secondary institution  
  • Transcripts from high school and any previous academic institutions  
  • Detailed letter of intent with program information  
  • Bank information for direct deposit only 
  • Signed student contract
