Description (Service)
  • Promotes physical activity and wellness for community members 
  • Responsible for planning, developing and implementing recreational and special events for members of the community  
  • Recreation services and facilities include baseball diamond, gymnasium, skating rink and community centre 
  • Provides passes for recreation facilities in surrounding communities such as swimming pools, fitness gyms, zumba and other exercise classes, aquafit and aqua therapy programs 
  • Offers access to athletic arts, and health and fitness training through a one-year membership for community members with the Northern Ontario Multi-Discipline Athletic Arts Academy (expires April 2015)
Activities can include but are not limited to: 
  • Floor hockey at Community Centre 
  • Judo classes for children, youth and adults 
  • Nordic pole walking
