Description (Service)
  • Provides assessment of circumstances which led to the inability to pay housing costs, followed by the development of a plan to ensure the housing and finances are stabilized 
  • Develops a repayment plan along with the client for monies provided by the Housing Division of Sault Ste. Marie to be repaid 
  • Offers assistance to individuals to maintain their housing stability 
  • Provides guidance to assist individuals with managing their finances 
  • Provides referrals when additional financial services are deemed necessary
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4:30 pm
Areas Served Algoma District
Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up 
Individuals who are facing an inability to pay either their rent and/or utilities
  • If a person is on Ontario Works they need a referral from their Ontario Works Case Manager 
  • If a person is not on Ontario Works they need to complete an application at the United Way office through Community Assistance Trust
