  • Assists pregnant women and new mothers living in conditions of risk 
  • Reduces the incidence of unhealthy birth weights and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) 
  • Improves the health of both mother and infant 
  • Encourages mothers to breastfeed their babies 
  • Offers food supplements and nutrition information 
  • Provides support, education and counselling on issues such as alcohol abuse, stress, and family violence
