Description (Service)
  • Provides coordinated community support for elderly and disabled members of the community 
  • Provides referrals to appropriate services and supports
Homemaking and Safety 
  • Promotes independence and offers support to enable individuals to remain in own home as long as possible 
  • Assists individuals and families in their residence with routine household activities such as light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, meal preparation and personal care  
  • Provides household support for heavy and seasonal housecleaning  
  • Acts as respite for caregivers
Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4:30 pm Sep-May 
Mon-Thu 8 am-12 noon, 12:30 pm-4:15 pm Jun-Aug

Eligibility Ages: 55 year(s) and up 
  • Members of Garden River First Nation living on the reserve and requiring assistance with medical transporation due to age or disability  
  • Programs and services may be extended to others based on resources available and/or program/service guidelines
