Description (Service)
  • Provides short-term in-home and out-of-home relief to families with children with complex medical needs, physical disabilities and/or developmental delays 
  • Enables families or primary caregivers to rest, attend to personal needs, or participate in outside activities 
  • Offers a work registry to assist families in recruiting a service provider
In Home Respite 
  • Provides planned respite care in the child's home 
  • Provides short notice and emergency respite when possible
Out of Home Respite 
  • Provides respite services outside the family home 
  • Offers children the opportunity to develop social, recreational and life skills
Hours Office Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm

Eligibility Ages: 21 year(s) and under 
  • Children with multiple disabilities including physical, communication and developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, cleft lip and palate and autism spectrum disorders
In Home Respite 
  • Families of a child/youth up to 21 yrs with a physical disability living in the city of Sault Ste Marie
Out of Home Respite 
  • Families of a child/youth up to 18 yrs with multiple special needs, a developmental disability or a physical disability living in the Algoma District
